Poor Caemlyn

December 18th, 2007

We took our family Christmas card picture Saturday afternoon, then we all went to the park sledding. Caemlyn had told me she could sled standing, so being the foolish parents we are, we encouraged her to do it so we could see. It was a tiny hill and she was doing fine, but ended up falling. Instead of falling on her rear, she stepped off and twisted as she fell. Long story short, she broke her tibia in a rather impressive spiral fracture. Thank goodness her growth plate wasn’t affected and everything stayed straight enough that she doesn’t need surgery. She got a splint in the ER, and I took her down to the Ortho in Espanola this morning for her full cast.

Kinda puts a damper on Christmas vacation activities with Grandma and Grandpa and cousins in California. Flying logistics will be interesting, to say the least.
Any ideas on decorating her cast for Christmas? She didn’t get to choose a color, just got boring white. I suggested getting a big, red sharpie and turning it into a candy cane. Oh, we could also use clothing suggestions, as she’ll likely be in a cast for the next couple of months.

Master Bath

December 16th, 2007

Our master bath is finally done! Well, we’re still working on drilling the holes in the tile for the shower rod, and have a shelf to put in and a few decorative touches - but it all works, so it’s done for me! lol
The vanity/view looking in from the (pocket) doorway…

The shower/jetted tub/glass block window…

The heated tile floor (ok, you can’t see the heat, but I had to include that fact)…

6 months

December 16th, 2007

Tyghe had his 1/2 birthday this weekend. He turned 6 months on Friday, but since his 1st year is a day longer than norm, he got 2 days of “half”.
Here’s the kids’ comparison…

Brothers

Lots to update, but no time at the moment. This pic of the boys was too cute not to post right away though.

Winterfest

December 2nd, 2007

Yesterday was the County Winterfest. This means that we were busy most of the day doing “christmasy” stuff. We started the day with our annual breakfast with Santa.

Then Justin and Zeph spent most of the day at the pool for a high school swim meet. Justin was there in a coaching capacity and Zeph was the runner (took times from officials to the computers). Caemlyn thought the view of the mountains from the pool parking lot was cool with the clouds, so I snapped a few pics.

While the boys were at the pool, the rest of us went to the Creche Show at church. Very nice. After lunch we went to the Lodge and watched a dance performance “Snowflakes and Starts” by young dancers at Kezia’s dance school. Then home so Tyghe could get in a much needed nap.

We ended the day with the annual lights parade downtown. It was cold, windy and rainy - but fun nonetheless. The light toys handed out by the bank this year are kinda like maracas, with color changing/flashing lights.

Zeph was there, but took off to bother some other people while I was taking pics.

Oh, and Zeph was in need of a hat, so I made him one that would keep his ears warm. I think it’s kinda cool.
