ExpressJet
For anyone considering flying in the future, I highly recommend ExpressJet. We flew out to CA on Southwest, and they were fine and good about accommodating Caemlyn’s unbending leg, but nothing special to speak of. We flew with ExpressJet on the way home, and they were great! When we checked in they moved all of our seats together and gave Caemlyn a row to herself so she’d have room for her leg. It was a tiny plane with only 2 seats on one side and 1 on the other, but even so, our family basically had the last 3 rows of the plane to ourselves. After the seatbelt sign was off, most of the kids played musical seats throughout the flight. They had free XM radio, so the kids enjoyed listening to a variety of stations. They gave us lunch (nothing fancy, but a sandwich and cookies/crackers), drinks, additional snacks, water and a mint as we were landing. One flight attendant did it all, and she was great. I was very impressed with all they offered and loved that it was a non-stop flight. They only fly to/from a limited number of cities, but worth checking out if you can.

We went to CA for Christmas, so there’s been a delay in posting about what we’ve been up to. Now it’s all going in one post.
The week(s) leading up to Christmas were chaotic, to say the least. We decided to wean Tyghe, but he was stubborn as heck about taking a bottle. After a week of refusing to eat (he did have some solids), a check-up to make sure he was OK at the peds (he had lost a good amount of weight, but was fine), and an afternoon with a friend (she saved my sanity)…he finally took a bottle, under much duress. After a couple more days he was finally taking it like a pro. But, much sleep was lost during that time and I had lots to get ready for our trip to CA. During the end of this week is when Caemlyn broke her leg, so time was spent caring for her and getting her cast so we could fly on the 20th. Instead of leaving a clean house, it looked like a tornado had hit and there was nothing I could do about it. Thank goodness everyone pitched in when we got home on Monday, so it’s looking much better now.
Anyway, on the 20th we flew to CA to spend Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa Stubblefield, the Runyans and the Lyons. We had a lovely time and the kids thought it was great. Didn’t do much exciting to tell about, but got to relax, shop with convenience and spend time with family that we hadn’t seen in too long. All I needed. Justin also found a girlfriend while we were there. Dacia (Josh & Courtney’s great dane being fostered at Mom & Dad’s) fell in love with him and enjoyed their morning runs together. There are lots of pics that can been seen in one location here.
Thanks Mom & Dad for taking such good care of us.
