Happy Easter
Here’s our annual family easter picture (using the camera timer).

I made the girls’ dresses, of which I’ll share more pics later. I’m pretty pleased with how they turned out, considering my sewing machine died mid-week and I had to borrow one. (another post on that later this week)
Justin was in the Stake Easter Pageant again (this time as an angel), so we went and watched that last night. It’s a good way to get the kids understanding why we celebrate Easter. Of course, I could go on and on about the lack of services where we live, and how we tried getting dinner somewhere in White Rock to take and share with Justin at the church, but found there weren’t any restaurants and ended up getting cold cuts and bag o’ salad at Smiths. Ugh.
We also went on a picnic in Rendija Canyon yesterday afternoon with several other families. It was very enjoyable, and the kids had a lot of fun running around and even having a small egg/candy hunt with their friends. Of the 6 families, I believe there were 16 kids. Caemlyn and Zephram were the oldest, but are good about playing with the younger ones and not complaining. We had such lovely spring weather, and ended up washing the cars when we got home since the suburban was covered with canyon dust that I knew would end up all over clean church clothes today if we didn’t.
In somewhat more exciting news, Tyghe is almost crawling. I figure he’ll have it down by the end of the week. I did get some nice progression pics of him “crawling” to his Easter basket during our little sunroom hunt this afternoon.

I think Tyghe enjoyed his first Easter. ![]()

Caemlyn had an Activity Days dinner this past friday night for parents to come to. As part of one of their requirements, they each had to write a poem or story about the creation (at a previous activity) and share it with everyone at the dinner. Most of the poems were about trees, flowers, water, etc., but my lovely daughter wrote one about her family. We’ll not discuss how red my face must have been when she was done. lol But, I figured I’d share it anyway.
My Family
My family is sweet or sour
they are funny or mean they
are silly or crazy.
We love each other so.
We help each other too.
We hug and kiss or
hit and kick.
Sometimes we are mean
sometimes we are happy.
We love each other so.
She looked very pretty though in her new dress that her mean mommy made her the day before.

9 months
It’s amazing how quickly time passes sometimes. I can’t believe my little boy is already 9 months old.

He’s still not crawling, but he can get around a bit when sitting and pushed himself halfway across the family room yesterday while on his tummy - moving backwards! lol He wants to be mobile but just can’t seem to figure it out quite yet. He’s getting closer though.
Looking at the comparison pics with his siblings, he definitely has fewer teeth. He barely has one poking through (with the one next to it on the verge), while all of the others have 2 fully visible. Interesting how different he is from the others in some ways.

Goings On
Zeph’s teacher does a penguin unit with her students every year and at the end they get to invite their parents to the classroom to share all they’ve learned/done. We went last week and all of the students were dressed up like penguins. Here is Zeph as a Snares Penguin.

On Tuesday the little girls got to go on a preschool (co-op) field trip to a local pizza place. They got to make their own pizzas and had a lot of fun.

Triathlon
Before having Tyghe I ran the San Francisco half marathon. I didn’t do too bad either. I’m not a great athlete, but having a goal and following through is such an amazing feeling. Now that I have 5 kids, I’ve been desperately trying to get back into shape. I’m getting there, but need a goal to work towards as well. SO, here it is…I am going to complete the Los Alamos Triathlon in August. I hope I’m not going to do it alone either. Thus is born
Any moms (or women, really) wanting to join me in getting fit and having fun doing it are encouraged to join me in training for this event (whether they actually compete or not). I’m getting excited about it already.
