blankets

October 10th, 2008

I made a couple of blankets lately that I’m quite proud of. First is Josh & Courtney’s baby blanket…and a matching hat. Since they don’t know the gender of the baby, I thought sock monkey colors were quite appropriate.

And a close-up of the hat…

The other blanket is actually a duvet cover I made yesterday for our old duvet. We got a new quilt for our bed and decided to let Caemlyn use our queen size duvet on her twin bed. The navy blue cover we had just didn’t seem right, so I looked through my fabric stash and came up with this…

I’m quite pleased with how it turned out and Caemlyn is as well.

I love the hat! I can’t believe everything you can make. I just sew. I think I need to learn to knit.

very, very cute! The sock monkey is a great idea for unknown gender gift. I need to get busy on quilt and blankie! I love Caemlyn’s duvet! Looks like it somewhat matches the girl’s bunkie bedding.

Seriously–you are so talented. I just got my cute crayone roll and I’m so excited about it. I need to have a weekend of sewing lessons with you!! I’ve reallyl been wanting to learn to sew…I just don’t know if I could do it. Love all your cute things…one of these days I’ll get the courage to try.

    So cute indeed!

The Minnesota State Fair has had in the past a sock monkey crafting exhibit that the hat and blankie would totally fit in at. Someone made two sock monkey dresses, although those were quite ODD. But that hat of yours is adorable!

    And very nice duvet cover!

Your work the beautiful!! I love the crochetting that looks like quilt blocks! The hat is so adorable. I love the colors on Caemlyn’s cover.
BTW- Are there any Tripps you’re related to live in the Highland or Alpine area? Chelsie mentioned to me a few weeks ago that someone with the last name of Tripp is either at her school (mountainville academy) or in the highland Children’s Choir with her. Just wondering if you’re related?

I think it’s great that you’re passing on your crafty gift to Caemlyn. The little monster she created for Sara is way cute.

I absolutely LOVE the sock monkey hat! I am looking for a pattern b/c I want to make one for my daughter to wear for her first Halloween. We always call her our little monkey b/c she wraps her feet and toes around EVERYTHING :-) If you could point me in the right direction I’d be grateful! Thanks, Sarah and baby Finn
