Gratitude Giveaway

November 17th, 2008

In honor of Thanksgiving, and my desire to express my gratitude, I’m having another giveaway!  This is a blue purse that I made for the craft bazaar that I participated in a couple of weeks ago.  It obviously didn’t sell (not much did) so I’m passing it on to one of my friends/family.

It has a magnetic snap closure and a couple of pockets inside. It’s about 15.5″ across when laid flat. If you’d like to win this bag, just post a comment by Thursday (the 20th) afternoon. I will randomly choose the winner that evening so I can get it in the mail Friday, before we leave on our trip to Washington.

In other news…
Caemlyn participated in another swim meet last weekend and is steadily improving her times. She even swam in her first IM. Way to go babe!

50 Breast

I tried my hand at another homemade craft that has turned out quite well. I made cloth curlers for the girls. I tried them out with Caemlyn first with lovely results.

I only made 10 so far, so not enough to do all of the girls at the same time, but they’ve worked well in Ada’s and Kezia’s hair as well. Didn’t take pics of their curly hair yesterday though, sorry. They are all begging me to make more though so they can all have curls more often.

Hi Megan. I’m so impressed with your sewing ability…very inspiring! Caemlyn’s hair looks beautiful. Have a great time in Washington.

    Awesome purse! Count me in!

What do you use in the curlers? I see they are attached with a button–that’s cool. Is there a specific kind of fabric you use so that the hair doesn’t slip out?

And throw my name in for the hat!

I meant purse! I don’t know why I said “hat!”

The curlers are just plain cotton stuffed with polyfil (or whatever is coming out of the cushion I took apart. lol) I used this tutorial - so feel free to use it as well.

Hi Megs. You are so talented! We are coming to New Mexico for Thanksgiving. You should email me your number so I can come see you, if you’ll be around. :)

Wow, look at how talented you are! I didn’t realized I would be marrying into such a gifted family. Love the purse, so please count me in for the drawing. Very cute!

What a neat idea for curlers. I had to laugh though when I clicked on the link you sent because they didn’t look like curlers right away to me {ahem}. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll never need curlers for my girls’ hair since they were blessed with such curly hair already. Maybe for me, one day.

The purse is way cute. I will have to do a post of the tote bags we did for YSA/RS. They were a lot of work, but turned out nicely. I am so impressed with Caemlyn’s swimming ability. It tickles me to no end to see my grandkiddies swimming - something I had always hoped to do, but get vicarious joy from hearing about them.
Caemlyn’s hair is beautiful!!! Do I see red peaking through?? Cloth curlers are a fun idea.

Very cute bag. How do you find time to do such cute, fun things? And I agree with mom…Caemlyn’s hair looks so red in that picture. I love the pictures of her swimming too. Very cool, and so talented.

This is actually Micah but I thought I would put our name in the ‘hat’ for the bag. Hopefully I’m not too late.

You are so crafty! Thank you for the baby blanket and hat, they are so cute. I havent told you but I ran into a physician in Vegas that knows Greg Spears. He called up Greg and I talked to him briefly. He of course stayed in Redding California and is in a private practice. He asked how you were doing. I told him that you are running triathalons and marathons and a wiz with computers and crafts/sewing. He seemed rather surprised and impressed. You impress us all Megan. I referred him to your blog/website.
