Secret Fairy Garden

March 29th, 2009

Not much of general interest going on here, though we did get another spring snowstorm with about 6″ of snow. Messed up the roads enough that everyone had a snow day on Friday. And now we’re headed into spring break.
Along with the several projects I’m working on, we’re also planning a short trip up to Denver. Justin will be swimming in a masters swim meet, and we’ll do some playing around with the kids.
Ada has been to a couple of birthday parties lately, for which I’ve made gifts. The most recent was a small tote that held a set of Angelina Ballerina puzzles (that were already in my stash). I didn’t take any pics, but the mother of the birthday girl raved about it when I picked Ada up. The gift that took a bit more effort, was a secret fairy garden. I followed a tutorial I found online for a fabric dollhouse, although the fairy garden idea came from someone else. Even though it didn’t come out quite as nice as I would have liked, Ada was pleased with it and excited to give it to her friend. Luckily, five year olds aren’t as picky as I am.

Grandma, Spring Snow and Pinewood Derby

March 22nd, 2009

Last week my mom came for a visit.  It was so nice having her here, and the kids had a lot of fun with grandma.  Unfortunately, her visit didn’t coincide with the lovely weather we’ve been having and she got spring snow instead.

Tyghe’s a funny kid, and didn’t care for grandma much when mom was around. But, if I was gone, he and grandma were great friends. Since I’m usually the photographer though, he wasn’t interested in sitting with everyone else for a picture.

Mom already blogged about her visit, so if you want more details or pics, head on over there.

Then this week, Zeph got to participate in his first pinewood derby on St. Patrick’s day. I’ll spare you the details of the car making process, but he did well and thoroughly enjoyed himself.

Also on the 17th, Kezia was able to participate in her first school music performance. No pics, only video that still hasn’t been uploaded to the computer. Sorry. Let me assure you that she looked cute and did well.

Life seems to be speeding by too quickly these days to properly document all that’s going on. At least everyone seems to be happy and healthy … and I did manage to run 10 miles on Saturday.

So Tired

March 2nd, 2009

Tyghe hasn’t been napping well the last few days, and thus has been quite tired and cranky.  I guess it all caught up to him yesterday while we were eating lunch.  He had just been yelling at me about not wanting to eat what was on his plate, and the next we looked over at him he was like this.

I don’t think he hardly stirred while Justin put him in bed and then took a nice, long nap.
