Happy Birthday, Easter, Spring Break!

April 14th, 2009

I’m just a little behind. First of all…
Happy Birthday (yesterday) to my hot stuff, Justin!  You’re the best.

Happy Birthday (yesterday) to my mom too! We love you!

We had a lovely, white Easter here. It snowed all day on Saturday, but was back up to 60 yesterday, so it’s all gone now. Thank goodness!
We took our annual family Easter pics…with less success than hoped for. Figure I’ll share anyway.

The boys…

The girls…

And a better pic showing the girls’ dresses that I made. They all turned out quite well, if I do say so myself. And I have to share that I even crocheted Ada’s little cardigan.

We didn’t get a chance to take pics until much later in the day, so everyone’s a bit wrinkly.

We also had a snowy spring break at the beginning of the month. We spent part of the week in Denver so that Justin could swim in the Colorado State Masters championship meet. He did quite well, improving his 1000yd time by 16 seconds and taking 1st in his age group and 4th overall for that event. He also swam in a few other events.
While in Denver, we enjoyed the Nature and Science museum and the adjacent park.

I also got a nice run in at Washington Park that has a couple of very nice playgrounds and 2 small lakes. Oh, and we can’t forget our dinner and Casa Bonita! Not very good food, but fun entertainment for the kids.

It ended up being snowy and icy for our drive home, resulting in some cool looking icicles on the car wheels.

Oh, and one more pic cause we saw this sign and just thought it was funny. Are you a member?

Up next… I’ll be running my second 1/2 marathon in Shiprock, NM on Saturday, May 2nd.
And even more exciting… Justin and I are going to Hawaii this summer!!! while the kids spend some time at my parents’ house.

Very cute family! Where did you get the little jacket pattern? That jacket is darling! I’m knitting a shrug for my 12-year-old (out of yarn for it at the moment) but she could always use more little jackets like that, and she loves them.

    That icy hubcap is amazing!

I am so impressed with those dresses. They turned out really cute. I bet you save a lot of money being able to sew like that. I am jealous that you get to go to Hawaii, do you get to go for a while? Like at least a week? Vacations have to be long enough that you are ready to come home after. Cute family pictures.

I’m glad you enjoyed Casa Bonita. Isn’t the food horrible? Good Sopapias though.

The girl’s dresses turned out very cute. Love the green. All the pics are great. I giggled at Tyghie’s cheeseball pic. Looks like the trip to CO was fun too. Good luck on the marathon. I will be thinking of you :) Is Kim still planning to meet up with you??
    Cool hubcab.

happy belated birthday Justin. Sarah was working towards the 1/2 marathon until she injured her hip a few weeks ago. She’s just now getting back into running.

I actually meant to say the “sopapillas” at Casa Bonita were good.
